Back of the photo reads: Rev. and Mrs. Harry E. Small, in front of the house Edwin and I bought as a home for all of us in June 1936. This was taken in the summer of 1938, after father had stopped going back to Canterbury, Conn. every weekend to preach at the church there. My sister Eleanor, who was a high official in American Photographic Co. till she retired in 1972 has always been amused by the old custom of photographers. The man is seated and the woman stands, presumably ready to do his bidding?
